December, November, October,

As well as writing business articles for Journals (PDF Articles) I have decided to write the occasional piece in my business blog about the difficulties associated with organisational and personal change. This is the 'bread and butter' of my business and I am constantly looking for new way of doing things. Curiosity is probably one of my key drivers because it focuses my attention on exploring new and unique approaches that can be implemented quickly. Some days the blog will be short. Other days I may write a little more, some days nothing at all.

I trust that some of the issues raised here may be of interest to you to pursue away from this forum. We find this stimulation is often sufficient to spark an informal round table or get together for an hour or so to pursue interests with like minded professionals. It's an idea a friend of mine Nick Price, CEO of Bright Purple (www.brightpurple.co.uk), has been pursuing for years with his clients. It works really well in resolving problems which every business confronts. Nick's round tables provide the solutions common to all - but they all start by exploring issues that are explored in similar forums to this one.

Back to the business blog. It is likely the key factors that that will evolve over time will expand from the following topics:

  • Aligning strategy and culture
  • Making change the culture and making it stick
  • Exploring what we mean by culture, leadership, values and vision
  • Looking at new ways to design the culture to drive the strategy of the business
  • Dealing with culture change programmes to fit the organisation's current cabalibity to absorb change
  • Linking cause-effect relatiionships so that behaviour change drives the implementation of technology, systems and processes
  • Making the idea of culture simple to understand and easy to measure
  • Exploring ways to commit to a change programme, when failure in change initiatives is a current and persistent feature in organisations
  • De-mystifying culture change and leadership
  • Demonstrating how a change in leadership, behaviour and culture can impact results
  • Debate and analyse how to create a working and meaningful customer focus strategy and culture
  • Committing to real behaviour change without investing in slogans, screen savers, coffee cups adorned with pop psychology jargon
  • Tackling the big issue - resistance to change - most fail to address it
  • Learning to generate a culture of innovation

It will be of interest to see how how well this business blog will evolve as a medium to discuss serious issues.

From time to time I will be refering to key people who I consider critical in helping drive and implement change. I'll ensure that weblinks are provided.

If there are subjects of interest you'd like to debate or have a contribution to make, please send us your comments on our enquiry form at the bottom of the page.

You will be able to access the monthly blog by going to the relevent link below. Later in the year we will cross reference key issues if theme emerges which are of interest to visitors to the site.
