The Power of Persuasion

In any area of business, our success rate is fundamentally determined by how well we can persuade and influence others. It does not matter if you occupy a sales, marketing, change management, training, personnel, team leader or line management role – we are all expected to achieve results through others. It goes without saying that any activity which supports us in becoming more effective in our interpersonal skills is a worthwhile investment. A Training event equipping us with ‘superior interpersonal skills’ has got to have a major impact upon our personal effectiveness, our career, our life and our identify.

We communicate both consciously and unconsciously yet most people do not understand how we can use all channels and their resources to reinforce their message at multiple levels.

The power to influence has to be the most important skill that anyone can master, and during this two day Workshop we focus upon the following activities.

  • Communicating at the conscious and other than conscious levels
  • How we process information consciously, and unconsciously
  • Strategies to become ‘unconsciously’ competent as expert communicators.
  • Communicating through words, tone and physiology.
  • Body language – what it conveys and means
  • Spotting a liar
  • Reading others through Body Language
  • Testing for understanding when others are confused as to what is truthful and not
  • Listening at multiple levels
  • Reading the objections of others to our proposals in advance of presenting them
  • The secrets of hypnotic language patterns and how advertisers use them
  • How can you use hypnotic language to improve your personal performance?
  • Practising hypnotic language patterns
  • Preparing for objections from a small or large group of people
  • Identifying personality types and those who you will find difficult to persuade
  • Developing interpersonal strategies to deal with all types of personality
  • Assess how the Regulator (High Assertive, Low Emotion), the Visionary (High Power, High Emotion), the Analyst (Low Power, Low Emotion) and the Facilitator (Low Power, High Emotion) will respond to your proposals
  • Assessing your personal six strategies for influence
  • Creating a new identity as a powerful communicator and persuader
  • Action planning for future events

All Workshop activities are participative – so when you leave the event many of the skills and strategies will be well practised and ‘hard wired’ into your repertoire of influencing style.

The Workshops are ‘Open Workshops’ and can be designed and tailored for ‘in house’ events/training, especially for the context of Sales, Customer Service, Change Management, Train the Trainer, Marketing, Team Leader. Events can be designed specifically to support the launch of new initiatives and new services and products.
